Supported Charities

We proudly support a number of local, national and international charities and always try to help out wherever we can. Below are just a few of the causes we've donated items to recently.


Sherborne Rugby Club and the B&SV Hunt Supporters - July 2013

On Saturday 8th June at Sherborne Rugby Club in Dorset, a day full of events such as: It's a knock out, Sheep Racing and Tug 'O' War, are being held to raise fund for the rugby club and B&SV Hunt supporters. Last year over 800 people attended the event and they hope to improve on these numbers this year - so is set to be quite an event!

Celtic & Co. were keen to show our support and donated a prize for their raffle to help raise more funds.

CLIC Sargent - May 2013

The staff at Celtic & Co. donated £299 to CLIC Sargent, raised through a staff sale of items that were not in good enough condition to sell and also old season samples.

As one of Celtic's favourite charities, we were all proud to dontate once more to this very worthwhile cause.

HSBC charity event for Latch and Bristol Children's Hospital - May 2013

On 22nd May HSBC Plymouth are organising a charity event in aid of the Commercial Region's 2 chosen charities; Latch, a Welsh children's cancer charity and Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal, which is raising funds for Bristol Children's Hospital, serving children with specialist needs all over the South West.

Celtic & Co. were keen to show support and have donated an auction prize.

Pyrford C of E Primary School - April 2013

On 27th April, Pyrford Primary School, very near to Guildford, Surrey held their annual ball to raise money to provide inspirational experiences for the children of their school.

When Celtic & Co. heard all about the wonders they have organised for the evening, from Olly Wedgwood’s 4 piece Jazz Soul Boogie Band to a raffle and silent auction we couldnt resist getting involved by donating an item towards their auction.

Cornwall Air Ambulance - March 2013

Cornwall Air Ambulance contacted us to explain how Mark, one of the full time Paramedics on the Air Ambulance has entered the 6633 Arctic Ultra which is arguably the toughest foot race in the world in which only 6 people have ever completed the full distance.

This took place in March 2013 and they raised a grand total of £14,056.89 against our target of £10,000!

Celtic & Co. helped by donating a pair of boots for Mark to wear on the overland journey from Whitehorse to Eagle Plains and wearing around the checkpoints as his trainers will have metal studs and unsuitable for their floor.

Carly Taylor Trust Fund - February 2013

The Carly Taylor Trust was set-up in order to raise funds for the on-going physiotherapy and rehabilitation of Carly who broke her neck in three places after a fall in November 2011. Carly was told that she would never regain movement below her neck but with strength and determination she is now able to move her shoulders, arms and torso, this is with the help of a physiotherapist and training equipment to keep her muscles supple.

Celtic & Co. were happy to donate a raffle prize for Carlyfest 2013, a concert being held at Bodmin College on Friday February 1st, where local bands are to donate their time to help raise funds. They are expecting 150 to 200 people on the night.

CLIC Sargent - December 2012

Celtic & Co. supported CLIC Sargent with a staff sale of items which are not good enough to sell to customers but still with life in them, should staff wish to claim them and donate some money for charity.

Celtic & Co. also supports CLIC Sargent with a collection box in the factory shop, which customers kindly donate into.

The amount recorded in the collection tin and staff sale kitty in December 2012 was £330, which we are all very proud of.

Mawgan in Pydar School Christmas Fair - December 2012

Mawygan In Pydar School is local to Celtic & Co. and held their traditional Christmas fair to raise much-needed funds with the invitation for Father Christmas to attend to greet the children. Celtic & Co. helped by providing a prize in their raffle.

The Chirstmas Fair was a great success and they managed to raise over £1,900, with the support of Barclay Match funding. This will be split between the school and pre-school and go towards educational summer trips,the summer-house classroom and additional learning equipment.

Royal Cornwall Museum - November 2012

When you think of a charity, you very often think of a group of people who have come together to support a serious condition/s suffered by humans, animals and sometimes plants. So when the Royal Cornwall Museum approached us to donate a prize for a raffle they are putting on to raise funds for their endowment fund that is used to support collections, work and the future projects, we thought, why not!

We all enjoy the arts, and it is very important that we can continue to support those charities who support a balanced lifestyle.

The raffle proved very popular on the day and raised over £300 from the members.

Macmillan Christmas Fair - November 2012

For a number of years now (we've lost track, possibly 5 years) Celtic Sheepskin has been a proud sponsor of the lunch hosted by Macmillan at the Hotel Bristol to raise funds for the charity. Celtic & Co. once again also held a stall at the fayre, giving those who recieved an invitation a chance to purchase with the brand in the flesh giving 15% of all sales to the charity.

This year the fair was yet again a success and they have advised that they have cleared £27,000 raised last year with possibly a larger figure.

Bude and North Cornwall Dog Training Group - November 2012

The Bude and North Cornwall Dog Training Group are holding cheque presentation night and charity raffle in November for the two charities they have supported this year: ShelterBox UK the well known Cornish based disaster relief charity and Hounds For Heroes (H4H), a new charity that train assistance dogs to help military and emergency service personnel overcome physical disability and emotional problems caused through their service.

Celtic & Co. supported the presentation night's raffle with a donation.

Farm Africa - November 2012

On 17th November the University of St Andrews hosted their fifth annual Welly Ball in conjunction with The St Andrews’ Challenge, Britain’s largest university clay pigeon shooting competition. Welly Ball is not only a great success on the night but St Andrews also work hard to raise as much money as possible for our charity, Farm Africa. Farm  Africa provides the training and support that poor rural communities need.

Celtic & Co. were delighted to support this charity and have sent a prize to raffle off on the evening to raise more funds. In total, the ball raised £10,000 for Farm Africa, which is a tremendous effort.

Bristol Children's Hospital Intensive Care Unit and Ronald McDonald House Bristol - November 2012

Amanda Walters wrote to us describing an auction she plans to hold at her birthday party to raise funds for these two charities which sit very close to her heart as those who helped her and her family with wonderful support, medical care and free accommodation at times of great emotional stress. In 2009 Amanda sadly lost her 16 month old severely disabled son, Oscar, to an undiagnosed severe neuro degenerative condition and she is keen to ensure other parents can benefit from the support they received from these two charities provided to her.

The evening was a huge success and as at January 2013 the current total raised was £3,600!

Celtic & Co. were delighted to help with Amanda's auction by donating a prize.

CLIC Sargent - October 2012

On 13th October Cornwall hosted it's annual CLIC Sargent ball at the Hotel Bristol in Newquay to raise money for the national charity.

The Falcon Inn Harvest Festival Charity Auction - October 2012

On 13th October, The Falcon Inn, St Mawgan held their annual charity harvest festival in aid of Cancer Research UK and the renovation of a 200 year old cider press in their village. The evening raised their highest figure to-date: £5,840, so was clearly a successful night!

Once again, CelticCeltic & Co. were privallaged to help by donating an item for their auction.

Stuff 4 Kids - October 2012

On 21st October 2012 Catherine Prosser organised her annual fundraiser: Stuff 4 Kids, following the success of last year's event which raised £1,050. The event is held in Swansea and this year was moved to LC2 as more sellers came on board to support the charities.

Catherine chose to rasie monies for: The Scotson Technique, to fund cerebal palsy therapy for her daughter Emily and also to support the charity Interplay. Celtic & Co. once again showed their support with a donation towards their popular raffle.

CFC/Costello (RAS), Cornwall Hospice Care and RCHT - August 2012

Marie Griffin organised a local Cornish event on 4th August to raise funds for CFC/Costello (RAS), Cornwall Hospice Care and also to purchase an Ipad for the childrens ward at RCHT. Celtic & Co. helped by donating a prize for the raffle. In total Marie raised £2800 in the evening, to be spread between the three charities.

Mary Phillips Sponsored Tractor Drive - July 2012

On 30th July 2012 Mary Phillips drove her Field Marshall Tractor series 3 in orange, at a speed of 9mph from John O'Groats to Landsend. That's approximately 1000 miles!

On top of this, Mary celebrated her 72nd birthday during the drive!

Celtic & Co. were very impressed by her enthusiasm, all to raised funds for the Cornwall and Devon Air Ambulances, and donated a prize for a raffle to add to her collected sponsorship money.

In total, Mary raised £15,000 for her tractor drive, which we were all very impressed to hear.

Perranporth Surf Club - July 2012

The 14th July was clearly a busy day for events in Cornwall, and we tried to support where we could. So when a mum from Perranporth Surf Club approached us for a donation for their Family Surf Day on Saturday 14th July, that was raising funds for a school pool, we felt we had to help in some way!

Happy Days Nursery - raising for Children's Hospice South West - July 2012

On Saturday 14th July Happy Days Nursery, which are located just down the road from Celtic Sheepskin's HQ, held their summer event to raise funds for Children's Hospice South West. Celtic & Co. supported their event by donating a raffle prize.

Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust - July 2012

On 14th July Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust hosted their 25th Anniversary Ball to celebrate 25 years of saving lives in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, inviting guests to join them for a three course meal, live entertainment and an auction, all hosted inside one of their hangers! Celtic & Co. supported the event by donating a prize for the auction.

The Silver Lining Charity - June 2012

On 9th June 2012 The Silver Lining Charity hosted its fourth annual ball in celebration of all things British. The charity's aim is to improve the quality of life of all those affected by brain injury. Celtic & Co. supported the event by donating a British-made donation from our Summer 2012 collection.

Cancer Research UK - May 2012

On 7th May Cancer Research UK Illogan Branch Fundraisers held their annual event, this year to include a plant sale and silent auction to raise funds for the charity. Celtic & Co. supported their event by donating an item for the auction, with all moneys put forward by bidders to go directly to the charity.

Carly Taylor Trust Fund - February 2012

11th February 2012 kicked off the start of local fundraising for Carly Taylor who was paralysed in a tragic accident on 5th November 2011. Celtic & Co. helped her cause by donating an item for the raffle that night.

Paula Hocking arranged a fundraiser in January to raise much needed funds for Cornwall Renal Services, and achieved £1,350 for the service which is a tremendous achievement. Celtic & Co. helped by providing a raffle prize.

Stuff 4 kids - November 2011

An annual event to raise fund for The Scotson Technique to fund treatment for cerebal palsy for Emily Prosser and also Ysgol Crug Glas Summer Play Scheme, which provides a 3 week play scheme over the summer holidays for disabled children and their siblings in the Swansea area.

The event saw items sold for children to raise monies for the charities. Celtic & Co. helped this year by donating a raffle prize.

Cornwall and Devon Air Ambulance - October 2011

On Wednesday 26th October Mary Phillips drove her Series 3A Field Marshall tractor from St Teath, north Cornwall to Truro Cattle Market in aid of the Cornwall and Devon Air Ambulances. As part of the drive, Alice coordinated a raffle to increase the monies raised and for this Celtic & Co. donated a prize.

Harvest Festival Charity Auction, The Falcon Inn (St Mawgan) - October 2011

An annual local event, which this year is being held to support Cornwall Hospice (Mount Edgcumbe & St Julia’s) and Medecines Sans Frontieres (volunteer medical service – doctors and nurses in war torn & natural distaster countries).

Celtic & Co. helped by donating a prize for their auction.

Yoga Rocks - August 2011 

A local group put on a charity Yoga event on Monday 15th August, with the help of several very flexible friends at Lusty Glaze, Newquay. It was planned to be the first of their community guerilla yoga tour of Cornwall, celebrating the diversity of yoga and getting people together of all backgrounds, ages and abilities to enjoy yoga as the sun sets, with a fresh and tasty BBQ, live music set (artist to be announced) and a charity auction. The event was to raise money and awareness for two charities; The Children's Hospice South West and The Global Natural Children's Health Trust - GNCHT, an awe-inspiring charity based in Truro, for children and their parents affected by HIV and AIDS in South Africa.

Local charity evening for Costello Kids U.K and Cancer Research UK - July 2011

A local chairty event held on saturday 30th July, organised by Marie Griffin of St Newlyn East, saw over £2500 funds raised for the charities. Celtic & Co. helped with a donation for their raffle.

Paddle Round The Pier - July 2011

Ronnie Corbett's daughter Sophie approached us to help with the VIP area for this two-day event held at Birghton on 2nd & 3rd July which is Europes biggest FREE beach and watersports festival.

This year the event is raised funds for; The RNLI, Teenage Cancer Trust and Surf Relief.

Celtic & Co. donated an item to be sold in the VIP area for charity.

Friend of the Animals RCT - April 2011

We were spculatively approached to help with their on-line auction, held twice yearly to raise funds for this Welsh animal rescue run completely by volunteers. Although based in Wales this centre provides support throughout the UK for homeless and unwanted dogs, and Celtic & Co. were delighted to have the opportunity to assist in some small way.

Cornwall Deaf Centre - April 2011

A community-based charity that has been created to give individuals a common place to come together and share experiences.  The charity approached us to help the group and inb particular Gemma Sanders, who is raising funds to secure her place on the British Deaf Football Team.

Deborah Meaden's NSPCC Ball - March 2011

Deborah is Chair of the Child's Voice Appeal South West and at the launch of the appeal one in three of the calls coming into Childline were going unanswered. The funds raised through the appeal go to increase the number of volunteer counsellors so that no child goes unheard.

Deborah held the Ball in March and raised over £100,000 for the appeal!

Celtic & Co. made a donation to help with the ball's auction.

We helped by donating a gift to this voluntary group to help them to raise fund for thair various local Cornish Charities.


SPARKs, the children's medical research charity  - December 2010

Fiona Mackay plans to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in 2011 for the charity SPARKS and as part of her fund raising, we doanted a prize for a raffle organised prior to her climb.
