10/09/2009
Men's knitwear will be one of the big trends for the autumn season, following its appearance on the catwalks this year, ethical clothing fans may be interested to discover.
The combination of conventional and exaggerated stitching is one of the key things to look out for, Dominik Macinger tells comparison blog Seek4Shopping.
Items which appear handmade will be particularly popular, with dark and earthy colours such as greys, blacks and browns all finding support.
Other autumnal shades such as reds, oranges and purples can contribute to the effect of men's knitwear, he says.
Mr Macinger states: "The appearance is clean and grown-up, with less cultural, retro and multi-layering authority. There is new emphasis on 1950s fashion design with defined shapes that emphasise the waist."
Ladies' knitwear will also be popular this autumn, with Smart Set fashion director Lindy Omassi predicting that the long cardigan will be the must-have garment for the season.
