Step into ladies slippers and sip chamomile tea "to help you drift off"

28/09/2010

Those who enjoy changing into their pyjamas and ladies slippers in the evening might be interested in tips for a better night's sleep.

Nutritionist Amanda Ursell and fitness expert Nicki Waterman shared their slumber advice with readers of the Sun and stressed the importance of winding down in the evening.

"Try eating your evening meal a good few hours before going to bed and having a soothing, warm mug of chamomile tea to help you drift off to sleep - and stay asleep," the pair suggest.

Following this advice might be a wise move for those who like to do everything they can to relax before bed - such as putting on their ladies slippers and pyjamas or reading a novel.

The Seattle Times recently said at least 20 minutes should be devoted to such activities before drifting off to sleep, as this should ensure a person gets good-quality shut-eye.
