Busy Brits could find resting in a pair of ladies slippers and unwinding before heading to bed assists their sleep.
According to the Seattle Times, many people now find it difficult to get all the day's jobs done as well as sleeping for a healthy length of time.
The publication suggests a number of ways to help with this common problem, one of which is to spend at least 20 minutes resting before going to sleep.
Changing into comfortable pyjamas and ladies slippers may assist with this activity, but the article also advises reading or chatting with a spouse before settling down for some shut-eye.
Other tips include prioritising any daily tasks and scheduling time to complete certain jobs, perhaps delaying those that are less important.
Cutting out caffeine from the afternoon onwards may also assist those looking to get more sleep, as the substance can continue to have an effect many hours after it is consumed.
