'Cosy up' with knitwear

Knitwear is a good option during the chilly months, according to one fashion writer.

The Daily Mail fashion writer explained that cardigans in particular can be worn in a number of ways and are an essential at this time of year.

"Cosy up in these chilly months with a chunky knit. Tightly belt the cardigan at the waist and team with a pair of jeggings to keep the look tailored and flattering," the writer advised.

A short-sleeved cardigan was pictured in the publication and could be ideal for those wanting to add layers to an outfit.

The stylist chose a leather belt that was loosely knotted at the front of the knitwear to add some shape to the long cardigan.

Other looks which involved layering different items included a tunic-style dress.

This was worn over sheer tights and with a black blazer to turn the look into an ideal evening outfit.

Last week the same publication explained that knitwear was a key trend going into spring.
