Investing in a ladies cashmere jumper could be a wise move for women who want to stay on top of the fashion trends this autumn.

While summer is still here, it's not too early to start thinking about what to wear during the next season, explains wxyz.com.

Image expert Jeane B has a few suggestions for those keen to keep up with the latest looks.

The website explains "fall fashions" will see fitted styles become popular, as well as "a homage to retro glamour".

There will also be "a host of other options including real or faux fur, belted waists, capes, thick luxe knits of wool and cashmere, bow details and strong lines in footwear", the writer notes.

Colour-wise, women should opt for camel, grey, navy black and neutral tones.

To match this, the image expert suggests teaming it with classic makeup, such as red or neutral lips.

Those wanting to add to this chic look could consider the addition of a fine-knit scarf.
